Who is Leanne Pilgrim?
Hi, I’m Leanne! I hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology and worked as a trauma therapist before transitioning into design. That background gave me more than an understanding of human behavior — it taught me how people respond to emotion, environment, and communication on a deeper level. Today, I bring that same insight into my work as a designer.
I’ve conducted and published research in the Journal of Consumer Behaviour exploring aesthetic awe — the way emotion and beauty influence how we think, feel, and make decisions. That research continues to shape how I approach design: blending data, emotion, and intuition to create meaningful digital experiences that not only look beautiful, but connect.
When working with clients, I strive to understand both sides of the equation — your personal taste, values, and story, and what your audience truly needs to see, feel, and experience. The magic happens where those two perspectives meet. My goal is always to find that balance: honoring your unique style while designing strategically for engagement, clarity, and trust.
Whether it’s a website, brand identity, or marketing materials, I design with intention. An understanding of human motivation and emotional resonance guides every color choice, layout, and interaction. The result is design that doesn’t just capture attention — it builds connection.
My goal is to create designs that feel like you — and speaks to them.
When I’m not working…
I spend my time perfecting my sourdough bakes, gardening, and exploring the outdoors with my family. I am also an avid yoga enthusiast and am a certified yoga instructor!
